Regular servicing & maintenance are key to keeping your vehicle in the best possible condition.


There are two service options - a minor service which is usually every 10,000 miles or 12 months (whichever comes first) and typically consists of an oil and filter change.


A major service which is usually every 20,000 miles or 24 months (whichever comes first) and this is typically a 'big service' which includes an oil and filter change as well as replacement of the air filter, pollen filter and spark plugs/fuel filter (depending on vehicle fuel type).

We carry out a free health check with every service, checking your car over visibly and topping up all levels. 


We use genuine parts for our VAG servicing as standard. Prices below are genuine parts and based on the 2.0TSI EA888 Gen 3 Engine. Prices will vary on make and model.

  • Minor Service with Genuine Parts -  £165

  • Major Service with Pollen Filter (Genuine Parts) - £350

We will update your online history to Erwin if applicable, keeping your service record up to date and warranty maintained.

This is a basic breakdown of routine servicing but every brand manufacturer has different recommendations and service intervals. There are lots of variables including the previous service history of the vehicle. If you contact us with your registration, mileage and previous history we will be able to help you work out what your vehicle is due.


A BMW has a range of dash icons to let you know what needs servicing, contact us and we will be able to price what your car requires for the next service.


We can update your BMW's iDrive and Key to show the services which we have carried out using our genuine BMW dealer tool. 


We use genuine BMW service parts as standard, if you would like to use OEM quality parts please let us know when requesting a quote.

We carry out a free health check with every service, checking your car over visibly and topping up all levels. 



We don't just work on VAG, BMW or high performance cars, any make and model are welcome. Please contact us with with your registration for service pricing.


Minor servicing pricing starts at £130. 


Genuine parts can be used if required - including brands such as Ford, Toyota, Peugeot, Honda and more. Just let us know if you would prefer genuine parts when asking for a quote. 


We have the option to upgrade your engine oil to a Millers Oils Performance oil. There are two different performance oils from Millers. What oil you need depends on what you need from your car, so let's talk about it! 

Millers EE Performance Oil

EE Performance is a high performance engine oil range which is ideal for on-road, fast road and track use. The EE range is specifically designed for vehicles that demand maximum engine performance. This engine oil uses the nanodrive technology. EE Performance offers an improved formulation with significant reductions in friction and wear compared to industry standard formulations. 

This oil is a longlife oil, perfect for sticking to your OEM intervals for replacing your oil every 10,000 miles or 12 months. 

Millers Motorsport Nanodrive NT+ Oil

Millers NT+ is a competition fully synthetic engine oil, a range of engine oil which incorporate low friction technology to achieve award winning results. This oil is recommended for competition engines - suitable for naturally aspirated and turbo charged engines. This oil is ideal for all race types, including endurance, time attack, sprints, hill climb, circuit racing and rallying. Suitable for operating temperatures of 125 degrees to peak temperatures of 150 degrees.   

This oil is perfect for track and fast road performance vehicles but this is NOT a longlife oil. This oil will need changed on a regular basis. 



We keep a range of Millers Oils engine flush, additives and fuel treatments in stock. These products are all available to add onto your service or collect from our unit. They range between £10 & £15.

Needing work done on your hybrid or electric vehicle? 


Our mechanic, Jordan has completed his IMI Level 3 Electric & Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement (Institute Of Motor Industry) and will soon be completing his IMI Level 4 – meaning he has the knowledge to correctly and safely carry out work on a high voltage vehicle (which can be extremely dangerous). Both Alana & Jordan will be carrying on with further training which allows us to adapt to the future as we’re only seeing more and more EV or hybrid vehicles on the roads!


At J&A Automotive, we can carry out maintenance, repairs and diagnostic work on your electric/hybrid vehicle. Hybrid and electric vehicles need maintenance and repairs, just the same as any combustion engine vehicle. For example, this includes replacing brake discs and pads, windscreen wipers, tyres, suspension components and the diagnosis of any faults which may arise.

If your VAG Group vehicle has 4WD or FWD as is the case with the MQB Seat Leon Cupra, Golf GTI Performance Pack or Clubsport, it is more than likely your vehicle has a Haldex system.  


The Haldex system uses an in-pump strainer to catch debris and contaminants within the oil and due to this we recommend having your Haldex serviced every 10,000 miles to avoid the strainer becoming clogged up. If not serviced, the Haldex pump can become blocked and this will eventually lead to pump failure which is a costly repair.  

There are different generations of Haldex, some of which use a filter. The filter can become blocked and burn out the pump if not serviced regularly. If you think your vehicle has a Haldex, contact us and we will be able to help you out.

The price of a haldex service depends on the generation of haldex which is fitted to your vehicle. An MQB Haldex is a Gen 5 which is £130 (inc VAT) for Genuine Parts.


It's important to keep your DSG gearbox serviced regularly, otherwise driving the car with old and contaminated oil will

affect the performance and could also lead to costly gearbox repairs due to other parts getting damaged.

Prices differ depending on gearbox type and price includes gearbox adaptions.

We offer this service using Millers DSG oil, which offers a more wallet friendly service without compromising on quality. (Genuine oil can be used on request). 

DSG Servicing (using Millers DSG oil & genuine VW filter and seal if applicable):

DQ250 (6 Speed) - £180

DQ381 & DQ500 (7 Speed) - £190

Incorrect wheel alignment can result in irregular tyre wear, affect the handling and safety of the vehicle.

Wheel alignment problems can be caused by hitting a kerb, driving over a pothole in the road or by excessive wear to steering or suspension bushes and components. It is important to get your wheel alignment checked regularly, especially on performance vehicles to ensure you get the most out of your tyres and the best handling characteristics.

We carry out a pre alignment check where we inspect all suspension components and tyres are in good condition. This is included in the price of £120.


We have a courtesy car available to book, keeping you behind the wheel while your car is having some TLC. Please book along side your appointment to avoid disappointment as there is only one car available. 

You will be covered via our insurance and there is a small charge of £15.

The driver must be between the ages of 25 - 65 years old and have no criminal convictions or any more than 2 penalty points on their licence for the following offences: CU, SP, TS.

It's recommended that you upgrade your clutch before beginning to tune your 2.0 TSI EA888 Gen 3. The stock clutches are weak and it's common that they can begin to slip, even when running on a stock clutch. We've introduced a package bundle which includes a uprated clutch from RTS and stage one OEM+ software from Racingline. Contact us for more information.

Suitable for Stock, Stage 1 and Stage 2 tuned vehicles, gives a lighter OEM feel that can be lived with every day.

What's the difference between dual mass and single mass flywheel?

A single mass flywheel is much more durable than a dual mass flywheel. Using the SMF clutch kit will increase the durability of your clutch as you are removing the component that is most

likely to fail.

We highly recommend the Racingline Performance

lowering springs for your VAG group vehicle.

The springs lower the sports models (GTI, R, S3 etc) by 20-30 mm in order to preserve the wheel travel

needed for perfect ride & handling.

We can supply and fit Racingline springs along with

xHP is the perfect gearbox software to compliment your Bootmod3 ECU software. xHP offer gearbox software which is also customisable to your needs. This is also a cloud based tuning platform!
